WELCOME TO THE JOURNEY / MINISTERIAL PREPARATION
AND COMMISSIONING

Preparing for ministry is a journey. This Guide to Ministerial Preparation and Commissioning is designed to acquaint you with the journey and provide information and insight that will assist you in preparing well for licensure as a Motorcycle Missionary (MM) chaplain. This journey takes time along with a good dose of endurance. As you begin, think in terms of an iron butt ride rather than a local poker run. Thankfully, you are not alone on this journey, though you must take responsibility for making wise, informed decisions. Along the way, prayerfully seek the wisdom and guidance of the Holy Spirit and make every effort to connect often with trusted persons willing to partner with you.

OUR BELIEF
What we believe about God, The church, Baptism,
The scriptures, and Us.

THE BIBLE – The Bible is God’s Word to us. It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. It contains the story of redemption through Jesus.

MAN – People are made in the image of God and are the supreme object of God’s creation. All of us are marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God called sin. Sin separates people from God.

CHURCH – A New Testament church is a local body of believers who are associated by their common faith and fellowship with Jesus. All members are equally responsible as they serve with the scriptural leaders of the church.

EVANGELISM – It is the command of Christ for every believer to seek constantly to win the lost to Christ by personal effort and by all other methods in   harmony with the gospel of Christ.

GOD – There is only one God. God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three persons: the Father, the Son, and Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God.

SALVATION – Salvation is God’s free gift to us, but we must accept it. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can anyone be saved from sin’s penalty. When we turn from our self-ruled life and turn to Jesus in faith we are saved. Eternal life begins the moment one received Jesus Christ into his life by faith.
