Introducing the all-new ‘Mental Health Coach’ First Responder program – A 42-hour, evidence-based, biblically-anchored training…
I’ll be Jeff
Wow! Another year past and a new year started.
I’m always excited about new beginnings even if they’re just symbolic, like the new year. It kind of gives me a new starting line, a place to remember starting something from. I’m a little embarrassed to say it but I’m glad to have the Holiday Season behind. With family, work, ministry it can be a tough time of year for me and I’m sure many of you. I’m refreshed, re energized, and ready to start the new year running!
As I was looking over my ministry calendar this morning and I can see I’m gonna have a busy year. God has called me to be a missionary, a motorcycle missionary and He’s given me a message to spread around the country. Doors of opportunity have been opened and I already have trips to Texas, Virginia, Tennessee, Kentucky, Minnesota, and Canada scheduled. I’m also working on plans to go to California and Oregon with stops all along the way.
While I’m excited about doing what God has called me to do I also have responsibilities at home and work. I have a family who loves me and employees who depend on me. I have many responsibilities and I can be tempted to get nervous, to worry, be stressed.
I’ve heard many people say God will never give me more than I can bear. That’s not a true statement. God often gives me more than I can bear so I’m forced to give it to Him. If I could handle it all I wouldn’t need Him. Everything I described above is more than I can handle. If I tried to handle all this alone I’m sure I would turn to my old coping mechanisms, drugs and alcohol. Since I’ve learned to let Him shoulder the heavy loads I don’t have to medicate myself because of my failure to succeed. I’ve learned to let God be God and I’ll be Jeff.
Yes, my year is gonna be busy. I’ll be busy about my Father’s business so I don’t have to worry. I’ll focus on my part and let Him do the rest. I don’t know where you’re at or what’s going on in your life but don’t try to handle it alone. God will shoulder the load if you’ll let Him.
I pray you have a Happy New Year! I’m gonna.
